One of the most recognized local artists, has ventured into painting and printmaking mainly and has won several awards and recognitions worldwide for his work. She is currently a Fellow of the Fonca for artistic career, has exhibited in the country and abroad. His work has been in museums, galleries, embassies and public spaces in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Guanajuato and outside the country in Serbia, the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Australia. She is a teacher at the La Raya municipal engraving workshop where she has carried out residencies and courses with leading international artists such as Nunik Sauret. Ireri is a member of the newly opened OPC Cultural Projects Office in Puerto Vallarta.
Artist with innate talent that has allowed him to venture successfully in painting, engraving and ceramics, although he is also a great chef. Fonca has been a scholarship holder as a young creator. He was the winner of the engraving grant from the Sothebys Miró Foundation in Palma de Mallorca in 1999, and has represented the country in exhibitions in different museums, galleries and public spaces in Milwaukee, Highland Park, New York, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Canary Islands, Lisbon, and in various cities of the country including Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Mérida and Puerto Vallarta. Sánchez is the founder of El Pulpo Rojo, a visual arts workshop and also a member of the OPC Cultural Projects Office in Puerto Vallarta.
Graduated from the Plastic Arts career at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) and professor at the CUC local campus of UdeG. Lugo is the winner of important state awards and a neat artist who also ventures into mixed media with paper as a collage, with two-hand jobs to exercise both sides of the brain. His work is varied and colorful, although sometimes it may reflect a complex state of inner reality beset by imaginary multiple and strange. He likes to handle the large format and the triptychs.
Born in Romania and with residence between Montreal and Puerto Vallarta, this graphic artist has come to enrich the local scene in terms of engraving with its spectacular monotypes. His production is carried out mainly in Taller La Raya and Taller La Marea directed by Marcela Bernal, under the tutelage of renowned printer Sergio Gutiérrez, better known as El Tocayo. Petru exhibits permanently in galleries in Montreal and in Puerto Vallarta in Galería Ambos. His work is part of the collection of the Peter Gray Museum of the CUC in the local UdeG Campus.
Self-taught artist originally from El Mosco in the jalisciense mountain range, but settled in Puerto Vallarta for more than 35 years. Tello has successfully ventured into painting, engraving, photography and sculpture. To the amazement of many, documented with photographs the existence of otters in the Rio Cuale. His work Origin and Destiny is part of the sculptural corridor of El Malecón and has recently developed a new technique of engraving on photographic paper revealed, to make strokes with a pointed gurbia and give shades ranging from black, ocher, gold and vermilion to white to color the Tellographs as he has called them. Tello is installed under the Puente de la Isla del Cuale every afternoon from 4 to 9 pm.
A graduate of the prestigious San Carlos Academy in Mexico City, Yésika has dedicated herself more to photography and recently to printmaking. His work is part of the collection of the Museum of the Americas in Denver. From the textures of the trunks to the scars of the earth, Yésika has captured the micro and macro cosmos from the lens. His work has been seen in many countries, including the United States, Canada and Portugal. She directs the Cuale Photography Workshop and is an arts teacher at the Puerto Vallarta Regional High School. She is part of the La Malagua group and an enthusiastic promoter of photography as a means of expression among young people.
